The Farm Retail Association is delighted to be joined by Jay Moran of Cheshire West & Chester Trading Standards, for an informal talk about the legal controls for market traders when placing goods, including food and drink on the market place. The talk will be from a trading standards and environmental health perspective, and will last about 1 hour (including Q&A at the end).
The talk will cover trading standards, Environmental Health, food registrations, pricing requirements, criminal law, civil law obligations, labelling of products, safety of goods, food safety, food standards, claims and descriptions, food fraud, weights and measures, engaging and liaising with local authorities, advice, enforcement, and quality schemes.
This talk is aimed specifically at market organisers. Independent traders/stallholders should always refer to their own local trading standards and environmental health officers for local advice and guidance.
