About Us

Founded in 2001 in the breathtaking surroundings of Glen Fyne, Argyll, Fyne Ales is a family-owned brewery with a simple but ambitious mission: to make exceptional beer in an exceptional place. Combining the best of traditional brewing with modern creativity, we’re proud to produce award-winning beers that are enjoyed across the UK and beyond – but always rooted in our Highland home.

Brewing in the Highlands

Our brewery was built on a working farm, and that connection to land, place, and people continues to shape everything we do. Using pure, soft Highland water and the finest ingredients, we brew with integrity and passion. From our flagship session pale, Jarl, to adventurous specials and barrel-aged projects, every beer is designed to be balanced, drinkable, and full of character.

Cask ale sits at the heart of our identity. We believe it’s the best way to showcase the quality of our beer, the skill of our brewers, and the uniqueness of our ingredients. As proud champions of cask, we see it as both a tradition worth preserving and a canvas for innovation.

The Taproom Experience

For us, brewing isn’t just about making great beer – it’s about sharing it. That’s why our taproom, right here on the farm, is at the heart of the Fyne Ales experience.

Visiting our taproom is unlike a trip to any city bar. Nestled among green fields and rugged hills, our brewery courtyard offers a one-of-a-kind setting to enjoy beer where it’s made. Guests can sip fresh pints just metres from the brewhouse, surrounded by the farm animals and scenery that inspire our work. Inside, our welcoming taproom bar pours a rotating line-up of Fyne Ales classics, seasonals, and one-off specials – always served in perfect condition.

But it’s more than just a bar. It’s a gathering place for locals and visitors, for walkers, cyclists, beer lovers, and the curious traveller. With regular food pop-ups, live music, and brewery events, the taproom is where our community comes together to celebrate beer, food, and Highland hospitality. For those keen to dive deeper, we also offer brewery tours on the weekend, giving guests a chance to see behind the scenes and learn how our beers go from field to glass.

Our Farm Brewery

Being a farm brewery isn’t just about our location – it’s about our values. Sustainability, stewardship, and a respect for nature guide us day-to-day. From rearing our own herd of cattle on spent grain, to working with local suppliers, to projects focused on reducing our environmental footprint, we’re committed to brewing responsibly and leaving our corner of the Highlands better than we found it.

Looking Forward

More than twenty years on from our first brew, Fyne Ales continues to grow while staying true to our roots. We’re still independent, still family-owned, and still driven by the same passion for beer, people, and place.

Whether you discover us through a pint of Jarl in your local, a limited-edition bottle shared with friends, or a trip to our farm taproom, we hope you taste a little of Glen Fyne in every glass.
