More than 60 years ago, we began to turn our family’s farmland into a business. Growing crops and working with local food producers, we provided them with an outlet to sell their wonderful goods.

​What began as a simple passion for real food and a desire to feed our children better, has grown into Smiths Farm Shop, a family-run, ethical business with a real focus on sustainability and responsible farming.

As a family we started out growing strawberries, using an honesty box outside a gate in the summer of 1958, before moving onto potatoes in the winter.

We also became one of the first UK farms to bring asparagus over from the eastern Mediterranean countries, helping to build on the popularity of the vegetable which is now readily available in most places now.

To ensure we supply a wide range of other products for our customers, we source British farmers from across the rest of the country who are leading specialists in their industry. This means our customers have direct access to the very best seasonal fruit and vegetables all year round.
