About us

The Jalland family have been farming in and around Melton Mowbray for over 500 years, and in 2003, cattle farmer Ian Jalland founded Brockleby’s. Originally a farm shop in Asfordby Hill, Melton Mowbray, Ian’s aim was to serve the community with high-quality local produce, from his own farm and those of other local farmers.

Being from Melton Mowbray, we naturally produced the authentic pork pie  and quickly expanded the pie range to over 20 different products. Overwhelmed by the popularity of our pies, we soon began travelling the country to retail them at farmers’ markets and through a carefully selected network of farm shops and Deli’s

Whilst continuing to support farmers markets our business focus is on growing our wholesale network to supply customers that would normally have purchased our pies at food festivals and county shows. Despite the enormous growth, Ian and his family continue to farm cattle to make our delicious steak pies.

Our pies have now won over 30 accolades at the annual British Pie Awards, have been recommended by the Pierateers, and have been featured in numerous publications and television programmes. We’re extremely proud to produce more pies than anyone else in the Borough of Melton, while remaining family-owned, and still supporting local farmers and producers.
