About Us
It’s not just veg that grows in our fields, Mo and I grew (up) in them too, and thats why even after flying the nest and the country we have both ended back on the farm and as a family have built Muddy Boots.
Having supplied the supermarkets for years a bumper crop of rasps saw us selling them in our family tent at the farm gate. The following year Muddy Boots was started. Adapting a polytunnel and stocking a small range of products from other diversifying farms. Now we do not supply the supermarkets and have developed the farm buildings in to a farm shop, cafe and play area. Eating local is what we are all about and being able to grow and supply some of the tastiest produce is our goal.
We LOVE being farmers, selling our own fruit, veg and eggs. Mum and I bake scones and cakes daily for the shop and cafe while Mo (our resident farmer and my sister) slogs away in the rain (we’re in Scotland) digging tatties and carrots.
One of our favourite tasks is trialling new products from small farmhouse suppliers and stocking products that have been developed with passion throughout the UK.
Our farm buildings have been adapted with our tractor wash bay and fuel store now our beautiful cafe, which is a great way to showcase the seasons fruit and veg and and an excuse to play in the bakehouse creating and tasting new cakes.
We have a lovely patio area for sitting out and enjoying the Scottish summer with great view of Fife. The cafes secret weapon is an amazing central log burner, which has visitors competing for sofas around it in the winter months.
Paddy’s Pig race is one of the star attractions of our Outdoor adventure play area. We have created a unique play space using recycled and reused elements from the farm combined with fun natural landscaping and fantastic play equipment like our jumping pillows and grass sledging.
We celebrate the seasons with Easter egg hunts, “the real santa!” visiting and Scotland’s Fright Farm at halloween.
