Kings Norton Farmers Market traces it’s heritage back to King James who issued a royal decree for the area to have a market. Rush through to 2005 and a group of locals decided to start a monthly Farmers Market and form a Community Interest Company – we understand we were the first Farmers Market to become a CIC and we helped others achieve this.

We are all volunteers and each month (second Saturday of the month in case you’re around) we have an area on The Green with 20-25 local producers selling locally produced food and locally made crafts. The 17th Century market would also have had livestock and people being hired for work and although our market usually has well over a 1000 people passing through the opportunities to buy a cow or get a job are non-existent.
