About Us
We’ve come a long way since our first blizzard-hit market way back in 2008, and are now rated as one of the best Farmers’ Markets in the country!
So, shortlisted as National Farmers’ Market of the Year in 2014, we continue to bring around 35 of the North East & North Yorkshire’s best independent food producers right into the heart of town on the second Saturday of each month.
A mix of our regular traders and the occasional special guest, that’s around 35 stalls brimming with the best local food, drink and artworks – all in this gorgeous seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea that we, the Market organisers, are proud to call home.
Our visitors tell us that two of the things they like best about Saltburn Farmers’ Market are the fantastic family atmosphere, and the chance to buy good local food that’s hard to find elsewhere.
That’s exactly what we set out to achieve when we first started back in 2008, and that’s what we still do today.
But more than just food, our market is about people – the people who actually make or produce the food itself.
So, come & say hello, meet our stallholders and chat with them about the food or art they produce.
And, while you’re here, you’ll love browsing around the town’s great independent shops and cafes – not to mention the beach, the pier and the Valley Gardens
About us
East Grange is a family farm situated on the outskirts of Durham City. We have been farming at East Grange since 1941 and are now in our fourth generation, with three of these still actively involved in running the farm.
We started selling precut Christmas trees in 2015, our pumpkin patch opened in 2019, and our sunflower trail in 2021, we continue to learn, improve and expand every year.
We are constantly trying new things and intend to introduce new aspects to the business every two to three years.

About us
The farm butchery is the heart of our business, and the basis for many aspects of the shop and cafe. All the livestock that the farm produces is utilised by the butchery, however demand has now outstripped what our small family farm can provide, particularly in relation to the beef, so we now also support other local farmers to meet this demand. Edward personally selects the animals on the hoof and then they are taken in small numbers to our local abattoir. The carcasses are then returned to the on site hanging facility and hung for a minimum of 21 days for beef and a minimum of 1 week for the lamb – all the carcasses are then broken down by our skilled team of master butchers and presented for sale in an ever increasing array of products and home produced specialities.
All of the meat used in the dishes freshly prepared for our Granary Cafe Restaurant are provided by the butchery department, including our delicious homemade burgers, sausages and our succulent steaks.
At the Deli counter you will be able to choose from a wide selection of home produced cooked meats all of which are cooked in cast iron stoves, which can be served sliced or in a sandwich to have for a quick, tasty lunch! We stock a wide range of homemade pies including our award winning pork pies, huntsman pies, steak pies, chicken pies, mince pies, quiches and our famous corned beef pie. We also have a good selection of salads, peas puddings, homemade stuffings. Our charcuterie range is also very popular. We also have a hot takeaway sandwich facility and takeaway hot drinks for those ‘on the go’
In the shop we have a carefully selected cheese display which boasts the best of the region with some cheeses carefully selected from further afield. We stock a selection of milk and dairy items from our local dairy some 3 miles away . We offer bread from our own bakery both artisan and everyday breads. A wide range of sauces, condiments and preserves are also offered which are selected to compliment our meat products. We offer a good range of fruit and veg with a local choice where seasonality permits. Our home bakery produces a fantastic range of cakes, desserts, tarts and a chilled range of creams and chocolate treats. We also work closely with local breweries to bring you the best of the region, and a selection of the best wines from around the world.
