Effective leadership – managing people and maximising productivity

About the course leader

Andrew Burton has over 30 years experience in Retail and Catering Management, including staff training and development. Having hosted training sessions throughout his career, including on behalf of House of Fraser, Garden & Leisure and Severn Valley Railway, Andrew’s speciality is staff and middle management development. His working background started in food retail, which included butchery, produce and grocery management; Andrew then joined House of Fraser in a homeware and fashion management role, before joining the Garden & Leisure Group, where he had over 14 years experience at senior management level. Between 2016 – 2019 Andrew was the Commercial Manager at Severn Valley Railway, overseeing all customer focused commercial and customer aspects including customer service, retail, catering, dining, weddings, events and marketing.

In September 2019, Andrew joined Malcolm Scott Consultants, which in Andrews words “gave him the right opportunity to bring him back in to the industries he loves”.
