About us
Hexham Farmers Market is a long established market in the heart of the historic town of Hexham in Northumberland. Our producers come from within a 50 mile range of the town and they are all passionate about what they do.
They make the products themselves using a high percentage of locally produced ingredients, so the meat you buy at Hexham Farmers’ Market is reared by the producer and the vegetables are locally grown.
We have about 25 producers who come to the market on a regular basis and you can find out about most of them on our producer’s page.
Hexham Farmers’ Market is a friendly community in its own right. We know lots of our customers and stallholders often help each other out. Visiting the market can be a very social occasion!
By shopping at the market you get access to an excellent range of foods and other products that have been produced in the area, you know what you’re buying is fresh and you’ll be able to talk to the producers about how they farm and how they make their products. Often you will also be able to taste what’s on offer. In addition you support a wide range of small food producers and you make you money work positively for the local economy.

About us
Brocksbushes has evolved over the last 25 years from an acre of soft fruit with a tiny farm shop which was open for 8 weeks in the year to a thriving rural Retail Centre with an award winning Farm Shop, Tea Room, Pick Your Own and Garden/Gift Centre. There is plenty of free parking and we are open all year round seven days a week.
Real Quality and Real Food in a Real Rural setting
On the farm we have approx 35 acres of soft fruit, which is open during the Summer months. There are 2 acres of Asparagus which we cut to sell in our Farm Shop in the Spring.
The fundamental policy of Brocksbushes is to provide freshness, quality and choice in every department and to give our customers a pleasurable day out whether they are selecting their groceries from our varied and delicious selection in the shop, treating themselves in the Tea Room, picking their fresh fruit in the fields, or choosing the plants for their gardens or gifts for their friends, they all are a part of the “Brocksbushes Experience”!

North Acomb a family farm. Robin and Caroline Baty run a working farm and look after all aspects of the day-to-day running. The farm shop was started in 1978 selling surplus eggs from Caroline’s free range hens from the back door porch. Soon after, customers were requesting North Acombs’ own produced green top milk and cream, after seeing the dairy herd in the field, so these products were also sold. Requests continued to come for additional fresh produce, such as cakes, scones etc, then the meat soon followed. Robin was lucky to know two butchers in the wholesale meat trade who guided him at the start in the art and skill of butchery. He continued to learn from customers requests for example lamb racks, guard of honour and crowns etc and developed his very own legendary sausage and black pudding seasoning recipe. Since then North Acomb Farmshop has gone from strength to strength with a wide product range of meats, home-baking produce and more, with many loyal customers coming from the local area as well as far afield. The shop has become members of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society, Guild of Master Craftsmen, the National Federation of Meat and Food Traders and FARMA.
North Acomb also boasts first class livery stables for horses; additionally if customers come and visit the farm, happy and healthy cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs, peacocks, and guinea fowl are always seen.
Aberdeen Angus Beef
North Acomb has gained a great reputation for the finest quality beef, and is a member of Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society. Most of the beef sold in the shop is reared on North Acomb’s green pastures with extra supplies sourced from Grantown-on-Spey, Aberdeen shire. The beef is butchered on the farm, it is then hung and cut to your requirements.
Tender Succulent Lamb
The majority of our lamb is home-bred, reared and fattened at North Acomb.
Traditionally-fed Pork
Half of which is home-reared in a large open straw barn (situated in front of the shop car park) or free range from Grantown-on-Spey, Aberdeenshire. It is of the highest quality and makes succulent pork joints, chops, Robins own recipe sausages and burgers as well as dry cured gammon and bacon.
Free Range Poultry
Free Range and Barn Reared Chickens are available year round as are Gressingham Ducks. At Christmas we specialise in Free Range, traditionally reared Turkeys, Geese and Chickens.
Local Wild Game
Game from Bywell Estates and the North of England is prepared on-site at North Acomb and is readily available in season: This includes partridges, pheasant, ducks, rabbits and venison.
Speciality Cuts
For that special occasion; joints of meat and specially prepared cuts are available. These include Crown and Guards of Honour, Racks of Lamb, a full selection of Aberdeen Angus Beef on the Bone and Racks of Pork. Please ring the farm directly for advice on what you require.
Cold Meats
For special gatherings we also roast joints of gammon and beef in addition to pickled tongue and turkey breast which can be left whole or sliced and decorated on a platter for buffets. Again, please ring the farm directly for advice.
From the Dairy Counter
In the farmshop you will find not only North Acomb’s own butter, but also a wide range of British farmhouse cheeses, local milk and cream from Marlycote Dairy, or original farm made ice cream from Brymor.
Tasty Preserves
Choose from a fine selection of preserves – from North Acomb’s own brand jams and marmalade, through to a wide range of chutneys and accompaniments that are the perfect complement to hot and cold meats and cheeses.
