About us

We love what we do and it shows. With more than 3 generations of experience in the field, our family know the farming & food industry like the back of our hands.

We’ve seen first hand the challenges that modern life has created and the disconnection between farm & table that has occurred as a result of mass-production and industrialisation. As a result, health problems are rising quicker than ever.

That’s why we decided to create Eastington Farmshop to help reconnect farmers with the table so consumers can appreciate their food in a meaningful way.

We believe that when there’s better transparency about where your food comes from, you’re able to make better decisions for you, your family & loved ones and the planet.
Our Story…

Eastington Farmshop was founded by Hannah Clarke & Ed Spencer.

The Spencer’s have been dairy farming the land for generations but saw a new emerging opportunity to help solve some of the challenges we experience in the 21st Century by taking things back to grass roots and using their connections within the local area to help locals access good quality food without reliance on big supermarket chains that put profits first.

They took the plunge to make their dream a reality and opened their doors to the public August 2019.

Founded by third-generation farmers Rebecca & Simon Wilson in 2013, Jolly Nice is an award-winning Farm Shop & Kitchen open from 8am to 7pm every day. We’re based on the site of a former filling station between Stroud and Cirencester in Gloucestershire. The business is renowned for homemade ice cream, the Jolly Nice Burger and an ever-changing range of brilliant local produce.

Our driving values are to support and sell local, sustainable and outstanding quality food and drink. We champion artisan producers and local farmers; our meat is always free range and we specialise in grass-fed, native rare breeds.

At Jolly Nice, customers can visit our Farmshop, Butchery, Cafe and Florist, all nestled under the canopy that once covered petrol pumps. Our Service Kitchen produces our menu offer onsite with seating in two locally made yurts and a small meadow. Our ice cream, cakes and other core Jolly Nice products are made at our Production Kitchen on our farm a few miles away.

We’ve won lots of awards including Best Independent Retailer at the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards (2016) as well as Best Rural Start Up (2017) and Best Rural Food Business (2019) at the Rural Business Awards. About us

Over Farm Market is located on the A40 just outside of Gloucester.

We are an award-winning, family-run farm shop selling farm grown produce, home-made treats and a wide choice of local and artisan food and drink items.

Operating for over 32 years, the shop has evolved from its inception, where it just sold farm grown potatoes and onions in bulk, to the present day which now includes the deli, butchers, bakery and tea room.

##We have one simple aim – to provide the best locally grown, fresh, seasonal produce.

Rob Keene originally came across the concept of farm shops whilst working on a farm in Indiana, America. Back then it was still a young industry, although, after the boom of the pick your own industry in the 1970’s, many soft fruit growers were looking to set up farm shops in order to extend the season.

On his return to England, he decided that the farm his Father and Uncle were running had more than enough potential to supply a farm shop, and gave Rob and Sue an enterprise to establish under the umbrella of the main business.

Over Farm Market was purchased in 1982 by R.Keene & Sons. The building, formerly a lorry garage, was rapidly converted into a farm shop with Rob and Sue at the helm.

Potatoes and Onions

Initially, they began by selling Potatoes and Onions that were being grown on the farm directly to customers. Steadily, the range of produce grew to the 80+ varieties of fruit and veg grown and sold today.

Over the years, as the public have looked for more to do in the countryside, Over Farm has developed other activities to entertain and enthral the public. This includes a music festival, Halloween scare attraction, children’s Easter, Halloween and Christmas events, and a party venue in a 19th century barn.

Now being driven forward by 13 family members, the farm is always innovating and adapting to changes to keep it a fantastic place to visit, whatever the reason.
